Job summary

Inmarsat Government, Inc. is seeking a Lead Test Engineer at Wright Patterson AFB, Dayton, OH to lead development, integration, verification and operational testing for advanced defense systems.

You will establish test strategies, direct execution, evaluate performance, and report findings to government leadership to support system acceptance and readiness. A TS/SCI clearance is required and a Bachelor's degree in a related field is needed.

Job Responsibilities:

The Lead Test Engineer leads developmental, integration, verification, validation, and operational testing for advanced defense systems. The individual establishes test strategies, directs execution, evaluates system performance, and leads multidisciplinary test teams while managing test risks and readiness assessments. The role delivers comprehensive test reports and briefs Government leadership on findings and recommendations that support system acceptance and operational readiness.

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline.


• 12+ years of test engineering, systems integration, or verification and validation experience.


• Practical application of DoD testing methodologies and requirements traceability.


• Demonstrated leadership of complex technical test efforts.


• Active TS/SCI clearance.

What will help you on the job:

• Experience with Air Force weapons systems testing, automated test frameworks, and Model-Based Systems Engineering environments.


• Professional certifications in INCOSE, Certified Systems Engineering Professional, ISTQB, Certified Tester Advanced Test Analyst, and PMI, Project Management Professional are preferred.


• Additional certifications in Certified Agile Tester, SAFe Agilist, and DAWIA Test & Evaluation Certification are preferred.
