Job summary

Blue Origin in El Paso, TX, is seeking a Test Avionics Engineer to serve as technical lead for developing, integrating, and executing tests on ground and flight hardware. You will own data acquisition, test platform sequencing, embedded hardware and software development, and cross-discipline collaboration.

You should have a strong systems perspective, a solid theoretical background, and at least a BS in a relevant field with 5+ years in test engineering or embedded design.

Qualifications

• BS in an engineering field such as aerospace, electrical, or mechanical with fundamentals in design, analysis, and test.
• 5+ years in test engineering, data acquisition, signal processing, or embedded systems with increasing scope.
• Strong understanding of signals and systems principles and error modeling.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain requirements for data acquisition systems across tests (aerodynamic, thermal, propulsion, etc.).
• Develop, integrate, and maintain test equipment and embedded hardware for mission sequencing.
• Support sensor modelling and performance characterization for IMUs, pressure transducers, accelerometers, and related sensors.
• Coordinate system integration with test engineers ensuring proper interfaces and timing.
• Create artifacts for test planning, documentation, and readiness reviews.
• Support ground and flight test activities as the data acquisition lead.
