Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Washington state seeks a Test Avionics Engineer to lead critical data acquisition and test activities for ground and flight hardware. You will own data interfaces, sequencing, and embedded software integration across multiple disciplines to deliver robust test results.

The role demands a strong systems view, hands-on hardware and software development, and experience with sensors, IMUs, and test platforms. Joint execution on complex space hardware is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in aerospace engineering, physics, applied mathematics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or other relevant engineering field.
• 5+ years of experience in test engineering, data acquisition, signal processing, and/or embedded systems design.
• Deep knowledge of signals and systems principles, including sensor calibration and error modeling.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain requirements for data acquisition systems across test activities (aerodynamic, hydrodynamic, thermal, environmental qualification, propulsion, jettison, subscale, full-scale flight tests).
• Develop, integrate, and maintain test equipment including mission sequencing and data acquisition embedded hardware.
• Support sensor modeling and performance characterization for IMUs, pressure transducers, accelerometers, EO/IR sensors and visual odometry systems.
• Coordinate system integration with test engineers and test operators, ensuring data interfaces, timing, and computational resource allocations.
• Develop artifacts to support test planning, documentation, and test readiness reviews.
• Support ground and flight test activities as a data acquisition responsible engineer.
