Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Test Avionics Engineer to lead the development, integration, and execution of critical tests on ground and flight hardware. You will own data acquisition, test platform sequencing, and embedded software across multiple space hardware projects.

The role requires a strong systems perspective, domain ownership, and collaboration with test engineers, procurement, manufacturing, electronics, and software teams. WA/CO salary ranges apply.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in aerospace engineering, physics, applied mathematics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or other relevant engineering field.
• 5+ years of experience in test engineering, data acquisition, signal processing, and/or embedded systems design.
• Deep knowledge of signals and systems principles, including sensor calibration and error modeling.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain requirements for data acquisition systems across test activities including aerodynamic, hydrodynamic, thermal/aerothermal, environmental qualification, propulsion, jettison, subscale, and full-scale flight test articles.
• Develop, integrate, and maintain test equipment including vertically integrated mission sequencing and data acquisition embedded hardware.
• Support sensor modeling and performance characterization for inertial measurement units (IMUs), pressure transducers, accelerometers, EO/IR sensors and visual odometry systems, load cells, strain, and thermal sensors.
• Coordinate system integration with test engineers and test operators, ensuring proper data interfaces, timing, and computational resource allocations.
• Develop artifacts to support test planning, documentation, and test readiness reviews.
• Support ground and flight test activities as a data acquisition responsible engineer.
