Job summary

Peraton in the United States is seeking a Test Automation Engineer SME to lead automated testing across FAA modernization programs. The role is 100% on-site in Herndon, VA, with occasional alternate site options, and you will shape testing strategies, mentor engineers, and ensure scalable, secure test pipelines.

You will apply Robot Framework and Playwright, integrate with Jenkins and Azure DevOps, and collaborate with architects and product owners to deliver reliable, certified aviation systems

Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship required.
Ability to obtain/maintain Public Trust clearance.
Bachelor’s degree with 12 years experience, or Associate’s with 14, or HS diploma with 16.
Proven expertise in test automation tools Robot Framework and Playwright.
Proficiency in Codebeamer or Spira Test.
Experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
Familiarity with cloud-based automation testing in AWS, Azure, or hybrid environments.
Knowledge of test management tools (JIRA, TestRail, HP ALM).

Responsibilities

Lead design and scaling of test automation within DevSecOps pipelines.
Develop reusable automation libraries and frameworks.
Create automated scripts for functional, integration, regression, and performance tests.
Ensure automation aligns with safety-critical and certification needs.
Mentor test engineers in automation practices.
Produce automation coverage metrics and dashboards.
