Job summary

Vail Resorts Beaver Creek Ski Resort is seeking a Lead Terrain Park Crew member to supervise, train, schedule, and motivate the terrain park team. You will perform daily risk assessments, oversee design, construction, and layout of features, and ensure safety and guest service excellence.

This winter seasonal role requires supervising, training, and managing terrain park staff, with a focus on safety, operations, and collaboration with other departments.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of education.
  • Minimum five years of terrain park experience.
  • Minimum two years of supervisory experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work outside in an alpine environment.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Own personal ski or snowboard equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Train, coach, supervise, and lead Terrain Park attendants and operators.
  • Organize and conduct weekly safety meetings and document equipment and PPE training.
  • Lead attendants and groomers through daily operations and nightly design and construction plans.
  • Perform daily risk assessment, feature inspections, maintenance, and testing of all features.
  • Direct leads, attendants, and operators to complete projects and general maintenance efficiently.
  • Assist in design and construction planning for all parks, pipes, and special events.
  • Assist Ski Patrol with accident investigations.
  • Hire, fire, and schedule terrain park attendants.
  • Act as liaison between attendants and upper management and other departments.
  • Assist in developing nightly grooming plans for terrain parks.
  • Make operational decisions when the manager is unavailable.
  • Serve as a role model for employee development and guest-service initiatives.
  • Assist in all training for Terrain Park attendants, implementing required tools and equipment.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
