Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
  • State license to perform clinical laboratory testing if required by the State.
  • Technologist II criteria and knowledge of principles, methods, materials, equipment and techniques.
  • Ability to instruct subordinates and delegate tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and analytical thinking.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a resource for technologist and department management.
  • Provide leadership in the department as a mentor and role model for staff.
  • Serve as a department-related content subject matter expert.
  • Establish priorities in work to be done and assign activities to technologists.
  • Direct internal proficiency/competency program according to regulatory standards.

Job Description
  • In addition to and in conjunction with the employee’s existing job description and under the supervision of laboratory management, they shall perform the following activities:
  • Serves as a resource for technologist and department management

  • Assists with personnel management including but not limited to scheduling, minor conflict resolution, training, and competency
  • Interfaces with auditors

Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology form an accredited institution
  • If required by the State in which the laboratory is located, the appropriate State License to perform clinical laboratory testing
Work Experience Requirements
  • At a minimum must meet Technologist II criteria
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, equipment, and techniques used in the applicable department
  • Knowledge of the principles applicable to the facility and regulated laboratory testing industry
  • Ability to instruct subordinates and delegate tasks
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks according to prescribed procedures
  • Strong communication skills & analytical thinking

  • $29.00-$38.00 per hour
