Job summary

Eurofins USA Clinical Diagnostics is seeking a Laboratory Technician responsible for performing tests across laboratory specialties following prescribed procedures, maintaining instruments, preparing reagents, and reporting patient results with accuracy.

Responsibilities include routine QC, equipment maintenance, adherence to SOPs, safety practices, and contributing to quality assurance and continuous improvement programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.
• If required by the State, the appropriate State License to perform clinical laboratory testing.

• Follow prescribed procedures to perform tests within laboratory specialties.
• Operate, calibrate, conduct performance checks, and maintain laboratory analyzers or equipment.
• Recognize and correct basic analyzer malfunctions; notify management when appropriate.
• Prepare reagents or media from prescribed procedures.
• Evaluate media, reagents, and calibrators per established criteria.
• Conduct quality control procedures on tests, equipment, reagents, and products; implement corrective action as needed.
• Perform routine testing including assay validations.
• Report test results according to established procedures.
• Adhere to SOPs and quality management system requirements.

Job Description

• Following prescribed procedures, performing any of the tests within any of the laboratory specialties, calculating the results of the tests performed as necessary.
• Operating, calibrating, conducting performance checks, and maintaining any laboratory analyzers or equipment.
• Recognizing and correcting basic analyzer malfunctions; notifying management personnel when appropriate.
• Preparing reagents or media from a prescribed procedure.
• Evaluating media, reagents, and calibrators according to established criteria.
• Conducting established quality control procedures on analytical tests, equipment, reagents, media, and products; evaluating results of quality control and implements corrective action when indicated.
• Determining performance specifications for new methods.
• Performs instrument maintenance, QC reagents and kits.
• Performs routine testing including assay validations.
• Confirming and verifying results through knowledge of techniques, principles, and analyzers.
• Monitoring quality assurance/continuous improvement programs.
• Monitoring safety programs in compliance with laboratory regulations.
• Utilizes laboratory information systems or other methods to accurately and effectively report patient results.
• Review and follow Standard Operating Procedures.
• Reporting test results conforming to established procedures.
• Supports Eurofins DPT’s business philosophy, leadership values, and ethics.
• In order to meet Eurofins DPT’s quality policy and objectives, all employees are expected to meet basic expectations of Eurofins DPT’s quality management system including, but not limited to good workmanship, adherence to standard operational procedures, training, good documentation practices, and accurate recordkeeping.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.

Work Experience Requirements

• 0-2 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, equipment, and techniques of medical technology.
• Knowledge of the principles of chemistry, biology, and bacteriology as related to medical technology.
• Knowledge of recent developments in the field of medical technology.
• Ability to perform assigned tasks according to prescribed procedures and to make accurate observations and records of tests results.
• Skill in the use of medical laboratory equipment.
• Strong communication skills & analytical thinking.
• Performs instrument maintenance.
• Performs freezer, refrigerator, and incubator maintenance.
• Performs QC reagents needed for patient testing.
• Competent to perform routine testing for many tests performed within the department.

Compensation

• $23.00-$26.00 per hour
