Job summary

Eurofins USA Clinical Diagnostics is seeking a laboratorian to perform tests across multiple laboratory specialties following prescribed procedures and calibrating equipment to ensure accurate results.

You will participate in quality control, report results, and maintain documentation while upholding safety programs and SOP adherence for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
• If required by the State, the appropriate State License to perform clinical laboratory testing.
• 0-2 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, equipment, and techniques of medical technology.
• Knowledge of chemistry, biology, and bacteriology as related to medical technology.
• Ability to perform tasks per procedures and record tests results.
• Skill in the use of medical laboratory equipment.
• Strong communication skills and analytical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Following prescribed procedures, performing tests within laboratory specialties.
• Operating, calibrating, and maintaining laboratory analyzers or equipment.
• Recognizing and correcting basic analyzer malfunctions; notify management.
• Preparing reagents or media from prescribed procedures.
• Evaluating media, reagents, and calibrators.
• Conducting established quality control procedures and corrective action as needed.
• Determining performance specifications for new methods.
• Performing instrument maintenance and QC reagents.
• Performing routine testing including assay validations.
• Confirming results through knowledge of techniques and analysers.
• Monitoring quality assurance/continuous improvement programs.
• Adhering to safety programs and laboratory regulations.
• Reporting test results using Laboratory Information Systems.
• Reviewing and following Standard Operating Procedures.

Job Description

• Following prescribed procedures, performing any of the tests within any of the laboratory specialties, calculating the results of the tests performed as necessary
• Operating, calibrating, conducting performance checks, and maintaining any laboratory analyzers or equipment
• Recognizing and correcting basic analyzer malfunctions; notifying management personnel when appropriate
• Preparing reagents or media from a prescribed procedure
• Evaluating media, reagents, and calibrators according to established criteria
• Conducting established quality control procedures on analytical tests, equipment, reagents, media, and products; evaluating results of quality control and implements corrective action when indicated
• Determining performance specifications for new methods
• Performs instrument maintenance, QC reagents and kits
• Performs routine testing including assay validations
• Confirming and verifying results through knowledge of techniques, principles, and analyzers
• Monitoring quality assurance/continuous improvement programs
• Monitoring safety programs in compliance with laboratory regulations
• Utilizes laboratory information systems or other methods to accurately and effectively report patient results
• Review and follow Standard Operating Procedures
• Reporting test results conforming to established procedures
• Supports Eurofins DPT’s business philosophy, leadership values, and ethics

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution
• If required by the State in which the laboratory is located, the appropriate State License to perform clinical laboratory testing

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 0-2 years of related experience
• Knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, equipment, and techniques of medical technology
• Knowledge of the principles of chemistry, biology, and bacteriology as related to medical technology
• Knowledge of recent developments in the field of medical technology
• Ability to perform assigned tasks according to prescribed procedures and to make accurate observations and records of tests results
• Skill in the use of medical laboratory equipment
• Strong communication skills & analytical thinking
• Performs instrument maintenance
• Performs freezer, refrigerator, and incubator maintenance
• Performs QC reagents needed for patient testing
• Competent to perform routine testing for many tests performed within the department

Compensation:

• $23.00-$26.00per hour
