Job summary

Bosch Building Technologies North America is seeking a Lead Technician - Security to drive installation projects from plan to completion. You will install, configure, and commission CCTV, access control, intrusion, and fence systems while leading site teams and coordinating with Project Managers and Sales.

Travel to job sites will be required as needed. You will mentor colleagues, maintain detailed documentation, and develop acceptance test plans to ensure client satisfaction and adherence to

  • 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Programming experience essential for this position.
  • Experience leading site-level installations.

Responsibilities

  • Install, program, configure, and commission security systems (CCTV, access control, intrusion, fence detection).
  • Provide leadership and support for assigned projects; oversee personnel and site operations.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure reliability.
  • Coordinate technicians, workers, and subcontractors.
  • Maintain documentation of installations and repairs.
  • Prepare reports and acceptance test plans to meet SLAs and standards.
  • Mentor colleagues in testing and optimizing systems.
  • Design security layouts and system configurations.

Job description

Job Summary

As a Lead Technician - Security with Bosch Building Technologies, you will collaboratively review, understand, analyze, and implement installation blueprints and plans from Project Managers and Sales Teams to complete installations. This role requires the ability to properly complete the installation, understand and follow the BOM, and be capable of making adjustments or finding alternative solutions as needed to complete installations to client satisfaction. Though based in Salt Lake City you may be required to travel to job sites throughout the region.

Responsibilities
  • Install, program, configure, and commission security systems, including CCTV cameras, access control systems, intrusion alarms, and fence detection systems, in accordance with industry standards and client specifications.
  • Provide overall leadership and support for assigned projects, overseeing project personnel and site operations.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs to ensure the continued functionality and reliability of security systems; troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Coordinate and direct technicians, workers, and subcontractors.
  • Organize and maintain efficiency across onsite activities and project goals while keeping project teams motivated.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand security requirements, provide expert guidance, and deliver solutions tailored to their needs.
  • Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction through effective communication and professionalism.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system installations, maintenance activities, and repairs.
  • Prepare and execute detailed reports and acceptance test plans to meet SLAs, contractual requirements, and internal standards.
  • Stay up to date with advancements in security technologies, regulations, and industry best practices; continuously improve technical skills through training and certifications.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and compliance standards related to security system installation and maintenance.
  • Perform administrative duties, including providing project updates to Project Managers and completing required project documentation.
  • Be available for on-call rotation support before or after scheduled work hours and, when required, on non-scheduled workdays.
  • Utilize technical expertise to mentor colleagues, providing guidance in testing, fine-tuning, and optimizing systems for peak performance.
  • Design security systems and develop system layouts as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Progressive leadership experience within the integrated security or low-voltage industry(s) with experience in leading other technicians and projects.
  • 5+ years of experience managing integrated security or low-voltage industry(s) projects.
  • 3+ years experience in a leadership role.
  • Progressive experience in a technical role.
  • Programming experience is essential for this position.
  • Previous experience leading installations at the site level.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of relevant tools and equipment.
  • Valid Driver's License and clean abstract.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Vendor Certification in low voltage systems (e.g., LENEL, GENETEC, MILESTONE, AVIGILON, AMAG, Keyscan, Kantech, SENSTAR, HANWHA, BOSCH, DSC, and others).
  • Post-secondary training in electronics or equivalent.
Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, climb, walk, sit, push, pull, squat, crawl, and stoop. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, and type on keyboard; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The use of power tools will be required to effectively perform this position. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 1.8m (6 feet).
Working Conditions
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, work on job sites, may be required to travel to and from job site locations, may work in a typical office environment, and is occasionally exposed to construction equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Confined space entry may be required. High work may be required.
Additional Information

Working Hours: This position generally works Monday- Friday, overtime and on call when necessary
