Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Lead Technician for our client in the Washington DC market. The role focuses on MAC moves for telecom devices, closet build outs, racking, cabling and testing in a healthcare environment.

The successful candidate will be the on-site face of the company, coordinating with a Project Manager, performing CAT6e terminations and tests (Fluke), and bringing strong low-voltage experience to maintain high professional standards in healthcare settings.

Qualifications

• Experience with MAC (Move, Add, Change) on telecom devices in a professional setting.
• Proficient with CAT6e terminations and testing (Fluke).
• Healthcare environment experience and client-facing demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Perform MAC (Move, Add, and Change) for telecom devices.
• Coordinate with Project Manager; handle Closet Build Outs, Racking and Stacking of equipment, cabling installations.
• Terminate and test CAT6e (and related cabling) and fiber where applicable; familiarity with Fluke testing.
• Maintain a professional, client-facing presence on site in healthcare environments.

Description

TEKsystems is searching for a Lead Technician for our client in the Washington DC market! This client is on of the countries number one engineering firms, that has been around for 50+ years, and is 100% employee owned. There telecommunications division provides full turnkey solutions to a number of major clients. They have both a wireline and wireless division within the DMV. Within their wireline group they do a ton of ISP work within the healthcare industry.

• This experienced and professional cable tech to support one of their high profile clients, in a healthcare environment.
• This individual will be the main resource performing MAC (Move, Add, and Change) work for their telecommunications devices.
• They will coordinate with a Project Manager and received tickets for duties not limited to Closet Build Outs, Racking and Stacking of equipment, Installation of cable, etc.
• The majority of what they will be work with is CAT6e so they need to know how to perform terminations and testing (Fluke).
• Fiber experience, Leviton/Bertech OEM experience is a plus.
• Since they will be working in a healthcare environment, this technician must be very client facing and professional as they are the face of the company on site.
• They also need to have experience working in such an industry as they will have to keep up with infectious control standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington D.C., DC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
