TEKsystems is seeking a Lead Cabling Technician for a contract position based in Truckee, CA. The role focuses on installing and maintaining CAT5e/CAT6 copper cabling and fiber systems, with responsibilities for coordination, documentation, and customer communication.
The ideal candidate has 2+ years in lead cabling roles, proficiency with Fluke equipment, and the ability to read drawings. Travel, weekend/holiday work, and onsite installation are required.
Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, the Lead Cabling Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting CAT5e/CAT6 copper cabling and single-mode/multi-mode fiber optic systems. This role works closely with project managers, estimators, and customers to review work orders, project scope, and technical requirements. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of telecommunications standards, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide recommendations based on customer needs.
The Lead Cabling Technician must be willing to travel and work out of town as needed. Work schedules may include weekends and holidays based on project requirements.
This is a Contract position based out of Truckee, CA.
The pay range for this position is $69.50 - $69.50/hr.
This is a fully onsite position in Truckee,CA.
