Job summary

TEKsystems in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking personnel for contract-to-hire data center wiring and cabling work. The role involves Cat6/Cat5 cabling, rack/building closets, and terminations, with both indoor and outdoor site work from 6am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Candidates will install and terminate cables, organize patches, and ensure grounding for equipment. Experience with cable trays, grounding, and IDC terminations is valued.

• Proficient with listed tools and ability to interpret blueprints and project documents

Responsibilities

• Install and terminate network cabling including Cat6/Cat5, fiber knowledge
• Build closets: mount backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels
• Install grounding for racks and equipment
• Terminate IDC connections (e.g., 110/66 blocks) and patch panels
• Pull wires, direct conduit installations, and supervise wire pulling
• Work indoors and outdoors in data center environments
• Operate hand and power tools as required

Network equipment experience Cat6 termination Fiber knowledgeLayout and install wireway, buss duct, cable tray, switches receptacles and other devices Will build closets (Mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware). Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required. Complete all IDC connections (e.g. terminate 110/66 blocks and patch panels).d out. Looking for individuals that can work inside and outside building out the data centers. Looking for hard working individuals. Shift is Monday- Friday 6am-5pm. Pulls wire and/or oversees and directs conduit installations and wire pulling. Operates tools/equipment, normally requiring the use of two hands (examples: cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jack hammers, etc.)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
