Role Description The Lead Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Rye Brook, NY. This role oversees and participates in day-to-day restoration projects, including water extraction, structural drying, fire and smoke cleanup, mold remediation, and storm damage repair for residential and commercial properties. The Lead Technician coordinates job setup, manages small crews, ensures safety and quality standards are met, and communicates clearly with clients, team members, and project managers. Responsibilities include operating restoration equipment, documenting work performed, assisting with estimates, and supporting insurance-related documentation. The Lead Technician is expected to respond to emergency calls, maintain readiness of tools and vehicles, and uphold company service standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to lead field crews, delegate tasks, and coordinate on-site workflows effectively.
• Hands-on experience with water damage restoration, structural drying, and use of related equipment (extractors, dehumidifiers, air movers).
• Knowledge of fire and smoke damage cleanup procedures and basic odor removal techniques.
• Experience with mold remediation practices, including containment setup and use of PPE.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally and empathetically with property owners.
• Capacity to read and follow work orders, document job progress, and support insurance-related paperwork.
• Familiarity with safety protocols, including OSHA guidelines, and commitment to a safe work environment.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to operate company vehicles.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts for emergency response.
• Physical ability to lift and move equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks in varied environmental conditions.
• Prior restoration or construction experience preferred; IICRC certifications (e.g., WRT, FSRT, AMRT) are a plus.
