Position Summary
The Lead Technician in Hayward, CA, will be responsible for the timely repair and maintenance of light, medium, or heavy-duty trailers to ensure a safe and efficient fleet. This role includes managing employees and garage operations, as well as onsite repairs at the Lathrop location.
$35.00 hr - $39.00 hr DOE
Monday - Thursday, 4/10 hour days, 4:00 am - 3:00 pm

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the Fleet Manager to complete shift work
- Supervise 2 or more employees while working
- Update and close work orders; collaborate with drivers
- Maintain, order, and update parts inventory
- Prepare vehicle records manually and electronically
- Perform safety inspections and documentations
- Inspect and work on vehicle underparts
- Access all vehicle areas for maintenance
- Transport parts and install/remove parts on vehicles
- Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies
- Perform additional duties as required
Key Competencies & Minimum Education
- Minimum 5 years of vehicle maintenance experience or auto/diesel technology diploma
- ASE certifications preferred
- Commercial Driver’s License class “A” or “B” preferred
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles
- Own hand tools and toolbox
- Knowledge of diagnostic scan tools and schematics
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email
- Strong communication skills
Working Conditions
- Exposure to traffic, dust, diesel fumes, noise, chemicals, oils, and greases
- Ability to access all vehicle areas for maintenance
- Ability to move heavy objects, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and crawl
- Work outside in various weather conditions
