Job Description Summary

The project support individual is responsible for providing support to, and collaborating with, engineers to produce new and existing technical specifications, reports, manuals, presentations, procedures, and other documents in support of new commercial nuclear reactor projects. This includes technical document reviews for formatting and adherence to document standards. This individual may assist in all areas of configuration management, including Requirements Management, Design Control, Document and Records Management, and Issue and Change Management.

Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
  1. Provide technical writing support and updates for new and existing documentation.
  2. Ensure project deliverables are completed on time, with high quality and within budget.
  3. Develop quality and user-friendly formats and templates for future publications, adhering to industry and customer standards.
  4. Edit and manage technical documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  5. Collaborate with subject matter experts in creating and implementing documentation.
  6. Familiarize with applicable products, services, concepts, practices, requirements, and procedures.
  7. Prioritize, organize, and complete multiple activities, meeting deadlines using experience and judgment.
  8. Collect, analyze, and compile information from various resources for document creation or editing.
  9. Manage review and approval processes, including comment resolution.
  10. Create, organize, and edit documents to meet compliance, clarity, and deadline requirements.
  11. Manage websites, libraries, storage repositories, workflows, newsletters, and process engineering changes as assigned.
  12. Update project schedules regularly.
  13. Perform requirements traceability and publishing as needed.
  14. Support input into the Product Lifecycle Management System (PLM) and the Nuclear Collaboration System, including records management.
  15. Perform training on configuration management functions for staff as needed.
Required Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or an associate degree with relevant experience in technical writing.
  2. Minimum 6 years of experience in technical writing within the nuclear industry, quality assurance, engineering, or computer technology.
  3. Experience in content development from various resources, including product specifications, interviews, and subject matter experts.
Eligibility Requirements
  • Preferred location: GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC, or highly qualified US-based remote candidates.
  • Access to U.S. export-controlled information, contingent on obtaining necessary authorization from the U.S. Government.
Desired Characteristics
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of electronic document publication, printing, and graphics software (Adobe Acrobat, Visio, Photoshop).
  • Strong organizational, project management, and multitasking skills.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in the nuclear industry, national labs, or high-tech governmental agencies.
  • Familiarity with GE documentation practices, configuration management, and regulatory guides.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe software; ability to create and modify PDFs.

The base salary range for this position is $86K - $112K, with potential bonuses and geographic differentials. Benefits include healthcare, retirement plans, tuition and adoption assistance, paid parental leave, disability, life insurance, and paid time off. Employment is contingent on legal authorization and successful drug screening. This is a remote position, with an application deadline of June 30, 2025.
