Job Description Summary

The project support individual is responsible for providing support to, and collaborating with, engineers to produce technical specifications, reports, manuals, presentations, procedures, and other documents supporting new commercial nuclear reactor projects. This includes reviewing technical documents for formatting and standards compliance. The individual may assist in configuration management areas such as Requirements Management, Design Control, Document and Records Management, and Issue and Change Management.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide technical writing support for new and existing documentation.
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality project outputs within budget.
  • Develop quality, user-friendly formats and templates aligned with industry and customer standards.
  • Edit and manage technical documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts in creating and implementing documentation.
  • Familiarize with applicable products, services, and procedures.
  • Prioritize and organize multiple activities to meet deadlines, using experience and judgment.
  • Gather and analyze information from various sources for documentation purposes.
  • Manage review and approval processes, including comment resolution.
  • Create organized, concise, and compliant documents that meet deadlines and quality standards.
  • Maintain websites, libraries, repositories, workflows, and newsletters as assigned; process engineering changes through data management systems.
  • Update project schedules regularly.
  • Perform requirements traceability and publishing tasks.
  • Support input into systems like PLM and the Nuclear Collaboration System, including records management.
  • Conduct training on configuration management functions as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or an associate's degree with relevant experience.
  • At least 6 years of technical writing experience in a nuclear, QA, engineering, or computer technology environment.
  • Experience developing content from resources like specifications and SME interviews.
Eligibility Requirements
  • Preferred location: GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; remote candidates based in the U.S. are considered.
  • Access to U.S. export-controlled information required; final offers contingent on obtaining necessary authorization.
Desired Characteristics
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of electronic document publication and printing.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, Visio, Adobe Photoshop, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience with GE documentation systems, configuration management protocols, and familiarity with US NRC RG, standards like ASME, IEEE, IEC, and tools like Documentum and Confluence.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
  • Experience in the nuclear industry or high-tech environments preferred.
Additional Information

The base pay range is $86K - $112K, with potential bonuses. Benefits include healthcare, retirement plans, tuition and adoption assistance, paid parental leave, and more. Employment is contingent on authorization to work in the U.S. and successful completion of a drug screen.
