Job summary

Lambert's Cable is seeking a Lead Warehouse Technician in the Ashland, VA area. The role oversees receipt, storage, and distribution, ensuring accurate order filling, inventory tracking, and adherence to safety and packaging guidelines while operating heavy equipment.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in warehouse/material handling, forklift/pallet jack experience, and be able to travel extensively. The position is field-based with hourly compensation and full benefits described by the employer.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or relevant work experience.
• Five years of warehouse or material handling experience.
• Experience operating forklift and pallet jack.
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
• Valid state driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and obtain a medical card.
• Knowledge of computer and inventory control systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and audit as needed.
• Resolve shortages and manage restocking.
• Prepare and verify orders for shipment per tickets and requirements.
• Check inventory for stock availability.
• Package and ship products per guidelines.
• Stock shelves and store new materials.
• Organize pick tickets and verify with packing slips.
• Receive, unload, and inspect shipments; match with POs.
• Operate dolly, pallet jack, and forklift for loading/unloading.
• Work overtime, travel, and on-call duties as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll do

• Conduct inspections and prepare periodic audits as needed
• Resolve shortages and manage packaging material restocking needs
• Prepare and verify orders for shipment according to pick tickets and customer requirements
• Check and verify inventory to ensure availability of needed stock
• Package and ship products according to packaging guidelines and practices
• Stock shelves in the warehouse and put away new materials
• Organize pick tickets and cross-check them with packing slips and work orders
• Receive, unload, and inspect shipments; confirm accuracy with packing slips and purchase orders
• Operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift for loading and unloading materials
• Work overtime, travel, and perform on-call/afterhours responsibilities as needed
• Other duties as assigned

What you'll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid State driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• Experience operating a forklift and pallet jack
• Five years of experience in warehouse or material handling
• Knowledge of computer and inventory control systems

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: work alone in remote locations, operate vehicle, bend, stoop, stand, walk, lift up to 55 pounds, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, climb stairs, use keyboard and mouse
• Occasionally: work in confined spaces or remote locations with arms above shoulder level, lift greater than 55 pounds, squeeze, fine hand motion, and use portable ladder
