Job summary

Lauren’s Institute for Education (L.I.F.E.) in Gilbert, AZ seeks a Lead Teacher to empower students with developmental disabilities through multisensory instruction and individualized plans. This role involves collaboration with a transdisciplinary team and ongoing family communication.

Minimum qualifications include a degree in education, fingerprint clearance, CPR/First Aid, and 3+ months of experience with children.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Degree in education or related field
• Level One Fingerprint Clearence Card and disclosure statement
• Provide three references
• Current CPR and First aid certification
• Proof of training and proficiency in A.A.C. Title 6, Chapter 6, Article 9
• No less than 3 months experience with children
• Prevention and Support training
• Evidence of successful completion of Lauren’s Institute for Education orientation
• Knowledge, skills and experience sufficient to carry out the requirements of the position

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in academic subjects using eclectic approaches, multisensory learning and repetition to reinforce learning and meet students' varying needs and interests.
• Establish long-range objectives and specifying strategies and actions to achieve them.
• Utilize special educational strategies to improve development of sensory, language, cognition, and memory.
• Modify general education curriculum for special-needs students using various techniques.
• Meet with parents/guardians to discuss progress and priorities.
• Establish behavior rules and procedures for classroom management.
• Work with testing specialists, social workers, and other professionals for eligibility and wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate and complete student records.
• Establish clear objectives for lessons and communicate them to staff.
• Collaborate with treatment team and supervise Para staff responsibilities.
• Ensure fidelity checklists are completed and payroll/billing policies followed.
