Job summary

Lauren’s Institute for Education (L.I.F.E.) in Gilbert, AZ seeks a Lead Teacher to empower students with developmental disabilities through diverse instructional approaches and multisensory learning. You will collaborate with speech, behavior analysts, and therapists to tailor plans and monitor progress.

The role emphasizes behavior management, parental communication, and fidelity to policy while supporting a low student/teacher ratio in a mission-driven, 501(c)(3) setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Degree in education or related field to education.
• Level One Fingerprint Clearence Card and disclosure statement regarding criminal record.
• Provide three references (forms provided).
• Current CPR and First aid certification (originals must be provided for copy and file).
• Proof of training and proficiency in A.A.C. Title 6, Chapter 6, Article 9.
• No less than 3 months experience with children.
• Prevention and Support training, if specified.
• Evidence of successful completion of the Lauren’s Institute for Education orientation and/or training program.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in academic subjects using eclectic approaches and multisensory learning to meet students' needs.
• Establish long-range objectives and specify strategies to achieve them.
• Utilize special educational strategies to improve development in language, cognition, and memory.
• Modify curriculum for special-needs students using varied techniques.
• Meet with parents/guardians to discuss progress and priorities.
• Establish and enforce behavior rules and procedures per policy.
• Maintain student records and communicate objectives to staff.
• Collaborate with treatment team and other professionals.
