Job summary

BrightStars seeks a caring Preschool Teacher to join our Rhode Island team. You will create age‑appropriate, hands‑on STEAM activities and nurture children’s growth in a safe, supportive classroom environment.

You will plan lessons, document progress, and collaborate with fellow teachers and directors to ensure high-quality early education for all children served by BrightStars.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; CDA, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred.
• Knowledge of child development and classroom management.
• Passion for STEAM education, creativity, and hands-on learning.
• Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills.
• Must be dependable, professional, and nurturing.
• Ability to pass required background checks and meet state licensing requirements.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement engaging preschool lessons that include STEAM-based activities.
• Support children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom.
• Supervise children during classroom activities, meals, outdoor play, rest time, and transitions.
• Encourage creativity, independence, teamwork, and problem‑solving.
• Communicate professionally with parents, families, and staff.
• Observe and document children’s progress, behavior, and development.
• Follow all daycare policies, licensing regulations, health, and safety procedures.
• Assist with classroom setup, cleaning, materials preparation, and daily reports.
• Work as part of a team with other teachers, assistants, and directors.
