Job summary

CoxChild Care Center North is hiring a Lead Teacher to maintain a safe learning environment and guide activities for children from 6 weeks through 12 years old. You will greet families, manage daily tasks, and ensure regulatory ratios and standards are met.

Ideal candidates bring early childhood coursework, CDA or MOA waiver, and CPR/FA/AED certification within 30 days of hire. This on-site role supports a collaborative education team at CoxHealth’s Learning Center North.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 9 college hours related to early childhood OR MOA Educational Waiver obtained upon hire OR Current CDA credential
• Preferred: 1–2 years related experience
• Heartsaver Pediatric CPR/FA/AED certification required within 30 days of hire
• Health screening and TB test required

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and healthy learning environment for children
• Plan, direct and coordinate academic and nonacademic activities
• Carry out learning objectives for all ages in care/classroom
• Greet parents and children at drop-off/pick-up
• Complete daily tasks (diapers/potty training, laundry, cleaning tables/diapering areas) before/after each shift
• Ensure state mandated child/staff ratios and comply with state, federal and accreditation standards

Job Description:

A Lead Teacher is responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment, to promote the positive development of all children. Plans, directs and coordinates the academic and nonacademic activities of the children in our care. Carry out learning objectives for all ages of children in their care/classroom. Greets parents and children at drop off/pick up. Ensures that all daily tasks are completed correctly and in a timely manner, such as diapers/potty training, laundry, cleaning tables, chairs, diapering/toileting areas before and after each use, clean toys at naptime and/or end of each shift, and stocks supplies for the next day. Knows and complies with keeping state mandated child/staff ratios at all times and all other state, federal and Accreditation regulations/standards.

Education

• Required: A minimum of 9 College hours related to early childhood OR Minimum of 6 college hours at an accredited college or university and MOA Educational Wavier obtained upon hire.OR Current CDA credential (Child Development Associate Credential)

Experience

• Preferred: 1-2 Years Related Experience

Skills

• Excellent customer service skills.

• Able to perform in highly stressful situations, including high volume times such as morning drop off times and during overlap (start of 2nd shift) drop off/afternoon pickup times.
• Health Screening required.
• Successful annual clearance from Family Care Safety Registry.
• An annual TB test required.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Initital T-Dap immune

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Required: Must obtain Heartsaver Pediatric CPR/FA/AED certification within 30 days of hire
