Job summary

Easterseals Western & Central Pennsylvania is hiring a Lead Teacher I at State College, PA 16801. This full-time role is Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, at $15.00 per hour.

The position includes a benefits package valued at over $6K per year and the chance to contribute to children’s growth. You’ll plan daily/monthly lessons, follow the Creative Curriculum, support IEP goals with families and a team of therapists, and assess progress.

Qualifications

  • CDA credential required to qualify for the role.
  • One+ year of work experience with children required.
  • PA driver’s license and clean driving record required.
  • Clearances (criminal, child abuse, DHS FBI) required.
  • NSOR check required.
  • Physical exam and TB test required.

Responsibilities

  • Create daily and monthly lesson plans.
  • Follow the Creative Curriculum and adapt as needed.
  • Plan activities within classroom centers and rotate materials.
  • Participate in development of IEPs with parents and staff.

JOB SUMMARY

The Lead Teacher I is responsible for classroom instruction, student assessment, and data collection, as well as, implementing goals of Individuals Family Service Plan (IFSP) and transition support. The Lead Teacher I will work with a team consisting of therapists and parents to meet the needs of each child enrolled in the program.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential obtained through the Council for Professional Recognition required.
  • One+ years of work experience with children required.
  • Prior experience working with children (ages birth to 8) preferred.
  • Current valid PA drivers license and acceptable driving record obtained through the PA Department of Transportation required.
  • Acceptable Criminal Record Check, acceptable Child Abuse History Clearance, and acceptable Department of Human Services FBI Clearance required.
  • Acceptable results from the National Sex Offenders Registry (NSOR) required
  • Passing of physical examination and TB required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES-Lead Teacher I
  • Create daily and monthly lesson plans that are available to review at least one week in advance.
  • Follow the established, play-based curriculum (Creative Curriculum) and implement adaptations, as necessary and appropriate, for each child.
  • Plan for learning activities within established classroom centers and rotate materials monthly and as appropriate.
  • Participate in development of the IEP along with parents and support staff (therapists, behavior specialists).
HOURS/BENEFITS

The Lead Teacher I is a full-time position, Monday thru Friday, 40 hours per week with one hour unpaid lunch. The hourly rate is $15.00. The position comes with an excellent benefit package valued at an additional $6K per year (health, dental and vision coverage, retirement savings plan, paid time off, life and disability insurance.)
