Job summary

Easterseals Western and Central PA is seeking a Lead Teacher I for our development program. The role focuses on classroom instruction, assessment, and data collection to support children from birth to age 8, within a team of therapists, parents, and staff.

  • Plan activities within classroom centers and rotate materials.
  • Assist in development of the IFSP/IEP with parents and support staff.

The schedule is M-F, 40 hours per week at an hourly rate of $15.00. The position comes with a full benefit package valued at over 6k. Consider joining our team! Amazing things happen in our classrooms with children developing and growing in their abilities before our eyes.JOB SUMMARYThe Lead Teacher I is responsible for classroom instruction, student assessment, and data collection, as well as, implementing goals of Individuals Family Service Plan (IFSP) and transition support. The Lead Teacher I will work with a team consisting of therapists and parents to meet the needs of each child enrolled in the program.QUALIFICATIONSChild Development Associate (CDA) Credential obtained through the Council for Professional Recognition required.One+ years of work experience with children required.Prior experience working with children (ages birth to 8) preferred.Current valid PA drivers license and acceptable driving record obtained through the PA Department of Transportation required.Acceptable Criminal Record Check, acceptable Child Abuse History Clearance, and acceptable Department of Human Services FBI Clearance required.Acceptable results from the National Sex Offenders Registry (NSOR) requiredPassing of physical examination and TB required.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES-Lead Teacher ICreate daily and monthly lesson plans that are available to review at least one week in advance.Follow the established, play-based curriculum (Creative Curriculum) and implement adaptations, as necessary and appropriate, for each child.Plan for learning activities within established classroom centers and rotate materials monthly and as appropriate.Participate in development of the IEP along with parents and support staff (therapists, behavior specialists).HOURS/BENEFITSThe Lead Teacher I is a full-time position, Monday thru Friday, 40 hours per week with one hour unpaid lunch. The hourly rate is $15.00.
