Job summary

The Goddard School is seeking a passionate Lead Teacher at our Millburn, NJ location to implement the Wonder of Learning curriculum and lead daily activities. You will foster a nurturing environment, collaborate with a supportive team, and engage families to track each child’s growth.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma with Early Childhood Education coursework or higher, CDA preferred, and 1–2 years of experience in licensed settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• CDA preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting preferred.
• Has completed state-required pre-service training.
• Develops relationships and communicates effectively with children, families and faculty members.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with handling of children.

Responsibilities

• Implement age-appropriate lesson plans using Wonder of Learning curriculum to support each child’s growth.
• Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
• Maintain open, effective communication with families about child progress.
• Supervise children to uphold health and safety standards and licensing requirements.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
• Observe and document children’s learning to inform activities and share insights with families.
• Support Assistant and Resource Teachers to foster a collaborative team environment.
• Model positive behavior strategies to support social-emotional development.
