Job summary

The Goddard School in Ewing, NJ is seeking a passionate Lead Preschool Teacher to lead daily activities using our Wonder of Learning curriculum within a nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment.

You will partner with families, supervise assistants, and uphold health and safety standards while delivering engaging lessons. We value teachers who build strong relationships and support young children's growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• CDA credential preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in licensed childcare or preschool preferred.
• Successful completion of state-required pre-service training.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in relation to children.
• Develops relationships and communicates effectively with children, families and faculty.

Responsibilities

• Curriculum and Instruction: Implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities using the Wonder of Learning curriculum.
• Classroom Management: Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Family Communication: Maintain open, effective and positive communication with families and guardians.
• Health and Safety: Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities; uphold licensing regulations.
• Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
• Assessment and Documentation: Observe, assess and document children's learning and development.
• Team Collaboration: Support Assistant Teachers and Resource Teachers; foster a collaborative team environment.
• Behavior Guidance: Model and apply positive guidance strategies for social-emotional growth.
