Job summary

Precious Time Child Development Center is seeking warm, dependable teachers to join our team. We hire teachers to work with children from infants to school-age, creating a safe and engaging environment where children feel supported and excited to learn.

You will plan and lead activities that foster learning, creativity, and development, follow daily routines, and collaborate with a team to ensure high-quality care and education for every child.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience with children in daycare/preschool/school setting preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, welcoming, and nurturing classroom environment.
• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities that encourage learning, creativity, and development.
• Follow daily classroom routines while responding to individual needs.
• Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
• Provide engaging activities including educational learning, creative play, outdoor activities, and enrichment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and developmentally appropriate classroom.
• Communicate professionally and positively with parents and families about their child's day, progress, and needs.
• Maintain accurate classroom and child documentation as required.
• Work collaboratively with fellow teachers, administrators, and support staff.
• Follow all Virginia licensing, health, safety, and childcare regulations.
• Help create a positive classroom culture where every child feels safe, included, and encouraged to grow.

Precious Time Child Development Center is looking for warm, dependable, and enthusiastic teachers to join our team! We are hiring teachers to work with children across all age groups—from infants and toddlers to preschool and school-age children.

What You'll Do

Depending on Your Classroom

Teachers may work with:

• Infants & Toddlers - nurturing care, routines, developmental activities, and early learning.
• Preschool - school-readiness activities, learning centers, creative activities, and social development.
• Pre-K - preparing children for kindergarten through engaging, age-appropriate instruction.
• School-Age - before- and after-school care, homework support, enrichment, recreation, and outdoor activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, school, or similar setting preferred.
• Early childhood education experience or credentials are a plus.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screening.
• Reliable attendance and dependable transportation.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Patience, professionalism, and a genuine love for working with children.
