Job summary

Land of Learning in Sycamore is seeking a Lead Teacher for Preschool to provide developmentally appropriate care and education. You will plan weekly lessons, implement curriculum, and maintain a safe, engaging classroom environment.

Qualified candidates have a CDA or at least 6 ECE college credits and can pass all background checks. Prior childcare experience is a plus; we offer competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Prepare developmentally appropriate lesson plans one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
• Implement lesson plans weekly, covering all areas of child development and follow classroom schedule; use parent app for communication.
• Establish a professional rapport with families to provide quality care.
• Ensure safety and well-being of each child; maintain a clean, organized classroom.
• Maintain child assessments/portfolios and conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences.
• Demonstrate physical ability to work around young children (sit/stand/walk/run, climb stairs).
• Lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.

Land of Learning in Sycamore is a licensed childcare center seeking Lead Teachers to support the following age groups:

Preschool

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a CDA or at least 6 ECE college level credits, and the ability to pass all background checks. A plus if you have previous childcare experience!

Required Shift: Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:30pm

Compensation: $18 - $20/hour, based on education and experience

Main Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
• Implement lesson plans/curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development and carry out lesson plans according to classroom schedule/daily routine; Use our parent communication app efficiently.
• Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
• Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs; and maintaining an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.
• Maintain a child assessment and portfolio for each child, as well as conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences during the month of November and May.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
• Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
