Job summary

Learning Tree Academy in Succasunna, NJ is seeking a Lead Teacher to take ownership of a classroom while collaborating with a supportive team. The ideal candidate will nurture children’s development, foster positive family relationships, and contribute to a close-knit, family-owned environment.

As a Lead Teacher, you’ll plan developmentally appropriate activities, document progress, and ensure a safe, engaging learning space.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidates are dependable, patient, creative, organized, and confident leading a classroom.
• Experience in licensed childcare or early childhood education preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or obtained soon after hire.

What You'll Do

As a Lead Teacher, you'll take ownership of your classroom while having the support of your teaching and administrative team.

You’ll:

• Create a warm, safe, engaging classroom
• Plan developmentally appropriate activities and learning experiences
• Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development
• Maintain an organized and inviting classroom
• Observe and document children's development
• Build positive relationships and communicate professionally with families
• Lead and collaborate with your classroom team
• Maintain active supervision and follow licensing and safety requirements
• Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school events

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who will get down on the floor, play, create, read, sing, get a little messy, and genuinely enjoy spending their day with young children.

Who We're Looking For

Our ideal Lead Teacher is dependable, patient, creative, organized, and confident leading a classroom.

Previous experience working in a licensed childcare or early childhood education setting is strongly preferred.

CDA, Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, or related education/credentials are preferred.

Relevant childcare experience and other early childhood education credentials will also be considered.

CPR and First Aid certification must be obtained and kept current, but we will have you every step of the way!
