Job summary

Impact Public Schools is hiring a full-time educator to create a positive, inclusive classroom that fosters joyful learning in Tukwila, WA. You will implement IPS instructional practices, collaborate with a team and follow IPS curricular plans to drive student growth.

The role emphasizes equity, ongoing professional development, and collaboration with school leaders. OSPI certification is required or eligible, with CPR and food handler qualifications encouraged.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in education or be actively working toward it (within 2 years).
  • OSPI certification eligibility within 1 month of employment.
  • CPR and food handler certificates or eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere and strong student–teacher relationships.
  • Apply core instructional practices aligned with the IPS model.
  • Plan using provided curricula, anticipate student responses and develop exemplar work.
  • Model IPS values and promote campus norms supporting belonging for all students.
  • Advance equity by addressing disparities in student opportunities daily.

Job description

Report to: School Principal
Location: Tukwila, WA, South Seattle, WA, Tacoma, WA, Renton, WA

Compensation
This is a full-time, salaried position working 40 hours/ a week with an annual salary range of $62,222-$88,861. Because of our strong commitment to equity and growth, Impact does not negotiate salaries. Salaries are determined based on years of experience.

In This Position, You Will Be Responsible For:

Learning Environment and Classroom Management

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, implementing effective behavior management strategies, building strong student-teacher relationships, and creating a safe and joyful environment for optimal learning.

Instructional Practices

  • Consistently execute core best practices aligned to the Impact instructional model.

Planning and Preparation

  • Implement comprehensive lessons plan provided by IPS' Academics team and anticipate student responses and potential challenges, and plan targeted questions and exemplar work samples to facilitate comprehensive and effective instruction.

Modeling Core Values

  • Exemplify and consistently model Impact core values and adhere to campus norms that align with the organization’s values, fostering a sense of belonging for all students.

  • Committed to disrupting inequity in their classrooms and in the greater school each and every day.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in education or related field or actively working towards completing a bachelor's degree (within 2-years of employment required)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in education or related field
  • Experience working to close the opportunity gap
  • Passion for equity and gap closing teaching experience with proven record of student growth

License/Certification

  • Must have or be eligible for certification by OSPI with an endorsement in Elementary Education (within 1-month of employment required)
  • Must have or be eligible to obtain a CPR certification
  • Must have or be eligible to obtain a food handler certification
  • Provide academic transcript
  • Must pass a fingerprint and background check
