Essential Functions:

• Develops age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for young children.

Education Requirement:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Associate’s Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education, preferred.

Certifications:

• Active Child Development Associate (CDA) certification within one year of hire, preferred.
• 24 annual hours of Ohio-Approved Professional Development tracked by department, unless Associate’s Degree or CDA certification is maintained, required.

Skills:

• Effective communication skills to interact with children, families, and other professionals.
• Ability to supervise and direct Assistant Teachers and students.
• Flexibility and ability to handle multiple tasks and change priorities.
• Ability to create a positive atmosphere in the classroom.

Experience:

Experience in an early childhood education program, preferred.
