Your Role as a Lead Teacher:

  • Engage & Educate– Deliver lessons according to the classroom teacher’s plans.
  • Mentorship - Serve as a mentor to provisionally licensed teachers
  • Classroom Management– Implement effective behavioral systems and trauma-informed care strategies.
  • Student Support– Provide accommodations for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Collaboration– Work closely with paraprofessionals and school staff to create a structured, safe learning environment.
  • Crisis Management– Respond to situations and assist students in maintaining a positive learning environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Education– Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college
  • Licensure- Holds or eligible for a Virginia teaching license, with an endorsement in appropriate subject area
  • Knowledge- Demonstrated expertise of subject content, curriculum, and methodology of effective teaching
  • Experience– Prior experience in education or working with students (preferred, not required).
  • Adaptability– Ability to work with different classrooms, grade levels, and student needs.
  • Technology Skills– Comfortable with instructional technology.
  • Certifications (Upon Hire)– CPR, First Aid, Crisis Management, and a driver’s license with a good record.
