Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Palmdale, CA, has an opening for Principal/Sr Principal Systems Test Engineer. You will bridge systems engineering and production, guiding test planning, execution, and data analysis in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a STEM degree, 5+ years (BS) or 3 years (MS) of related experience, active Secret clearance, and ability to work multiple shifts. Strong mentoring and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM).
• 5+ years of related experience with a BS or 3 years with MS or 2 years with Ph.D. in STEM.
• Experience in a system test environment.
• Active U.S. government Secret or higher clearance (with BI in last 6 years or Continuous Evaluation).
• Ability to obtain/maintain PAR as required.
• Proficiency with mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical concepts.
• Willingness to work multiple non-standard shifts/overtime.
• Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Test Development: create ATPs, test schedules, and integration test procedures.
• Coordination & Approvals: lead test planning groups and reviews to move ATPs through approvals.
• Readiness & Execution: lead TRRs and provide real-time testing support for safety and effectiveness.
• Subject Matter Expertise: act as technical expert for aircraft systems and mentor staff.
• Collaboration: define test data needs and coordinate personnel/equipment for execution.
• Post-Test Analysis: participate in data evaluations and resolve discrepancies.
