Job summary

Parker Hannifin Corporation is seeking a Principal Engineer for Safety & Reliability in Irvine, CA. You will provide technical authority across lifecycles, conducting safety and reliability analyses, and developing plans that meet government regulations and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; MS/PhD preferred.
• Deep expertise in system safety & reliability; 12+ years experience, motion control systems preferred.
• Knowledge of SAE ARP4761, ARP4754, MIL-STD-882E, RTCA DO-178/DO-254/DO-160, ISO-9000/9001, MIL-STD-810, MIL-HDBK-217F/Plus/472/1629.

Responsibilities

• Define safety and reliability approaches on AAG development programs and tailor standards for program and certification basis.
• Provide expert technical advice and recommendations; support design reviews; drive root cause investigations.
• Present to internal and customer groups; protect company IP.
• Plan and lead system safety/hazard analyses; maintain hazard logs; assign severity and risk levels.
• Develop reliability predictions and plans; prepare test procedures (HALT/HASS, environmental testing).
• Research and implement new methodologies to improve safety and reliability; establish processes.
• Mentor other employees and provide technical leadership.
