Job summary

TransCore in San Diego, CA is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager to lead the design and documentation efforts for complex electro‑mechanical sensor platforms. The role supports proposals through installation drawings, ECOs/ECRs, and product-line improvements while coordinating manufacturing and field support.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Engineering, hands-on CAD experience (SolidWorks/AutoCAD), and strong leadership with firmware, programming, circuits, and Linux experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• SolidWorks ability; AutoCAD a plus; drafting standards knowledge.
• Basic knowledge of circuits and programming.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical assemblies.
• Management or Project Management experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage Design and Installation Projects with schedules, BOMs, and tracking.
• Create hardware design solutions including mechanical and electrical aspects.
• Support product line, generate ECOs/ECRs, design improvements, document products.
• Support projects during sales, installation and maintenance; communicate capabilities and specs.
• Improve product line using 3D models, drafting standards, cable design, and simple circuits.
