Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a seasoned systems engineering leader to serve as the engine line Model Leader for Small Uncrewed Engines. You will provide technical and programmatic leadership across propulsion system development, owning architecture, performance, and qualification for key engine models.

You will guide cross‑functional teams through concept to qualification, coordinate with customers and DoW interfaces, and drive schedules, risk, and cost management while advancing FLIGHT DECK

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited university.
  • 10+ years propulsion system development, turbomachinery design, or aerospace systems engineering (SPB2) or 15 years with leadership of major propulsion programs (SPB1).
  • Experience leading propulsion systems or major subsystems development from concept through qualification.
  • Strong understanding of gas turbine engine design, performance, operability, and integration.
  • Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive integrated execution across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Strong systems engineering skills including requirements management, interface control, and verification planning.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to engage effectively with customers, leadership, and technical teams.
  • Strong program management skills including schedule management, risk management, and cost management.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment with geographically distributed teams.
  • Must obtain and maintain U.S. Government Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as single point of technical accountability for engine model architecture, design integration, performance, and qualification.
  • Lead requirements management and traceability with customers; allocate requirements and manage changes.
  • Oversee systems and design integration across engine modules; manage interfaces and trades.
  • Own program schedule and execution; lead IPT meetings; manage risks and EVM.
  • Develop development and qualification plans from concept to production; coordinate with DoW authorities.
  • Serve as primary technical interface with government customers and weapon system integrators.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring to cross‑functional teams; promote FLIGHT DECK principles.
