Job summary

QinetiQ US is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer in Chantilly, VA to provide technical and programmatic support to a DoD client. You will lead modeling and simulation efforts and ensure mission and systems engineering best practices across a multi-domain portfolio.

The ideal candidate will guide PMs & SETAs, develop robust simulation models with AFSIM/CAMEO, and collaborate across Air, Land, Space & Cyber domains to deliver complex RDT&E programs.

Qualifications

• 15 years total experience, with 10+ years of practical systems engineering experience specifically within M&S.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics or similar field.
• Previous experience using AFSIM and CAMEO.
• TS/SCI clearance; #qinetiqclearedjob
• 10-20% CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure mission engineering and system engineering best practices across the organization.
• Make recommendations to Program Managers and SETAs; design and configure systems for complex projects.
• Participate in program reviews and concept review boards; provide model based engineering support to government PMs.
• Develop and validate simulation models using tools like AFSIM, CAMEO, and other modeling tools.
• Collaborate with engineers, SETAs and government PMs to align simulations with CONOPs and real-world scenarios.
• Coordinate with stakeholders across DoW including USW R&E, CAPE, Joint Services and DARPA.
• Assist with developing processes, products and training materials for systems and mission engineering.
• Review key documents including Project Execution Plans and provide feedback.
