Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) in Syracuse, NY is seeking a motivated Lead Systems Engineer to head a multi-disciplinary team focused on advanced systems, electronics and communications technologies. You will guide system analysis, design, and integration across software, firmware, hardware, and mechanical domains.

The role requires extensive experience in embedded systems, modeling with MATLAB/Simulink, and collaboration with customers and stakeholders. A U.S.

Qualifications

9 years related experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years with Masters; 4 years with PhD/JD; or 13 years with HS diploma.
Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex systems.
Familiarity with EW, radar and/or communication technologies.
Experience with MATLAB for modeling and simulation; Simulink as a plus.
Familiarity with Python or LabVIEW for rapid prototyping and testing automation.
Team player with ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers, management and peers.
Experience in system analysis, requirements derivation, and system design.

Responsibilities

Oversee and contribute to system analysis activities to develop system requirements and design specifications.
Modeling and simulation of complex embedded systems.
Develop innovative algorithms and system architectures.
Perform data analysis, develop trade studies, and write technical memos.
Execute systems integration activities.
Oversee and provide direction to software, firmware, hardware and test engineers.
Train and mentor junior engineers.
