Job summary

HII Mission Technologies in Syracuse, NY is seeking an Electronics Engineer to join the Warfare Systems group. The role focuses on designing and integrating advanced electronic hardware for national security missions, with opportunities to influence both prototype work and field evaluations.

You will collaborate with systems, software, and mechanical teams to ensure secure, reliable performance and adherence to MIL standards.

Qualifications

• 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in related field; 3 years relevant experience with a Master’s in related field; or 9 years relevant experience with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design, embedded systems, and signal processing.
• Experience with tools such as Altium, SPICE, MATLAB, OrCAD, or similar.
• Familiarity with military standards, ruggedized electronics, or secure system design.
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test electronic circuits, subsystems, and components for defense applications, including communications, radar, sensing, and embedded systems.
• Perform schematic capture, PCB layout review, component selection, and system-level integration.
• Conduct simulations, modeling, and analysis to validate performance, reliability, and compliance with military standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams—systems engineering, software, mechanical, and manufacturing to ensure seamless integration of electronic hardware.
• Support prototype development, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis during testing and field evaluations.
• Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, and compliance reports.
• Ensure all designs meet rigorous security, safety, and environmental requirements (e.g., MIL-STD, EMI/EMC, environmental hardening).
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
