Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to drive architecture and SDLC rigor across software, network, and cloud systems for FAA weather programs and cloud infrastructure initiatives in Melbourne, FL.

The role leads cross-functional teams, develops design artifacts, and ensures interface control, verification, and mission-aligned solutions within enterprise standards and security requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 9+ years of related experience; graduate degree with 6+ years
• Public Trust clearance capability is required or can be obtained
• Experience with weather or aviation projects is a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering and SDLC activities across software, network and cloud components
• Capture, allocate and document system requirements and develop design artifacts
• Coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams and conduct gate reviews (SRR/SDR/PDR/CDR/TRR)
• Develop and maintain ICDs and interface definitions between software and cloud subsystems
• Support verification, validation, and security planning for cloud-based solutions
• Translate customer requirements into compliant system solutions within constraints
