Job summary

FORVIA HELLA is seeking its next Lead Systems Engineer – Phone as a Key to join our growing body team in Northville, USA. The role partners with internal and external stakeholders to drive development of our next generation product design, focusing on body functions and key systems.

You will lead system planning, oversee change control, support DV/PV activities, and ensure compliance with standards while collaborating across global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronics/computer engineering and 5+ years in automotive.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience with system and component architecture.

Responsibilities

• Act as overall technical contact for the customer, focusing on technical themes, cost & timing, partnering with Project Manager.
• Lead discussions on change management, customer tickets, system requirements, architecture, and emerging technologies.
• Create system engineering planning and ensure standards are followed within the development framework.
• Responsible for System Change Control Boards (CCB).
• Support system integration, verification and validation activities including DV/PV planning and vehicle testing.
• Manage governance including change control, risk tracking, quality reviews, and DFMEA ownership.
