Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Lead Systems Engineer to join an aerospace and telecommunications-focused team onsite in Lanham, MD. You will own technical direction from requirements through verification and validation.

You will coordinate RF, software, mechanical and electrical disciplines, mentor junior engineers, and lead development of new mission concepts and system architectures. The compensation ranges from $120,000 to $200,000 annually with a comprehensive benefits package including

Qualifications

• 7+ years of systems engineering experience.
• 2+ years leading a Systems Engineering team.
• Experience with DOORS/Jama for requirements management.
• MBSE skills using Cameo Systems Modeler.
• MATLAB/Simulink analysis and trade studies.

Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is looking for a Lead Systems Engineer to join a growing aerospace and telecommunication company. This is onsite in Lanham, MD and a full-time position.

Essential Duties of the Lead Systems Engineer:

• Owning technical direction from requirements definition through verification and validation
• Develop, maintain, and track technical budgets (mass, power, link, schedule).
• Lead the development of new mission concepts and system architectures.
• Translate high-level requirements into actionable subsystem and interface specifications
• Coordinate across engineering disciplines (RF, software, mechanical, electrical).
• Mentor junior systems engineers and contribute to team process improvement initiatives

Qualifications of the Lead Systems Engineer:

• 7+ years of systems engineering experience.
• 2+ years of experience as Lead of a Systems Engineering team.
• Requirements management tools: DOORS, Jama, or equivalent
• MBSE tools: Cameo Systems Modeler or something similar
• Experience with MATLAB / Simulink for analysis and trade studies

Compensation for the Lead Systems Engineer:

• $120,000 - $200,000 (based on experience)
