Job summary

Gcore group is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to oversee, manage, and optimize our Edge Network infrastructure. This role demands hands-on technical expertise paired with team leadership to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable systems.

The ideal candidate will have 6+ years in systems engineering or SRE, including leadership experience. Key responsibilities include leading design and maintenance efforts, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with various teams to enhance performance and security.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in systems engineering/SRE.
• 3+ years of leadership or team lead experience.
• Solid experience with agentic coding.

Responsibilities

Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Systems Engineer to oversee,manage, and optimize ourEdgeNetworkinfrastructure. This role combines hands-on technicalexpertisewith team leadership, ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable systems that support business operations.

What you'll do:

Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance ofedge infrastructure, includingservers, networking, anda lot ofinfrastructureglue.

Ensure high availability, performance, and securityhardeningofthesystems.

Mentor and guide engineers, providing technical direction,goalsand support.

Implement and manage automation for system provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance.

Establish and enforce best practices for systemsengineering,observability, and incident response.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including: product, RnD,network, security, and support.

Continuously improvingconfigurationmanagement,automation,observability,agenticworkflowsand tools.

Participate in on-call rotations and incident management as needed.

Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to infrastructure and processes.

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For:

Proficiencyin scripting/automation tools such as Python, Bash, Ansible, or Terraform.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid infrastructure.

Solid understanding of networking, security, and storage concepts.

Solid experience with agenticcoding.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

6+ years of experience in systems engineering/sre, with leadership or team lead experience for 3+ years.

Nice-to-have:

Experience with Puppet,Prometheus,Grafana,Victoria Logs.

Knowledge of security and performance troubleshooting practices.

Experience in web security,AI ina widersense.

UnderstandingBGP and related networking protocols.

Programming ability inC,Go, Python, or Rust.
