Collins is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to lead the STARS platform architecture. You will drive MBSE models using Cameo, guide interface definitions, and shape the system's long‑term architectural vision.

Ideal candidates have extensive experience in safety‑critical architectures, strong leadership, and collaboration across engineering teams to ensure scalable, compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree with 7–10 years experience or Advanced Degree with 7+ years
• 10+ years in complex system architecture or systems engineering
• Proven experience with safety‑critical or mission‑critical architectures
• Expert-level Cameo Systems Modeler, SysML, and MBSE proficiency
• Strong requirements, interfaces, integration, and verification knowledge
• Demonstrated leadership from concept to implementation

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture development for the next‑generation STARS system.
• Develop MBSE models to represent behavior, structure, interfaces, constraints, and verification paths.
• Perform architecture trade studies and define modernization roadmaps.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure architectural alignment and feasibility.
• Establish and enforce modeling standards, patterns, and best practices.
• Support requirements decomposition and traceability using MBSE techniques.
• Present concepts and rationales to stakeholders and customers.
• Mentor junior engineers in MBSE and system architecture principles.
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and NAS certification requirements.
