Job summary

Gravitics is seeking a Lead System Safety Engineer to own the safety lifecycle for pressurized spacecraft and modular orbital structures. You will lead hazard analyses, author safety data packages, and serve as the company’s principal safety representative before NASA review panels.

You will collaborate with systems, avionics, propulsion, and software teams to ensure safety is integrated into design trades, verification plans, and mission operations, while growing the S&MA capability across the

Qualifications

• Hands-on hazard reporting experience (FHA/FTA/FMECA)
• Knowledge of NASA safety standards and human-rating requirements
• Ability to drive safety in early design trades and system-level analyses
• Must be a U.S. person under ITAR/EAR rules

Responsibilities

• Lead preliminary and detailed hazard analyses and hazard reports.
• Own safety program lifecycle and SSPP artifacts.
• Represent safety before station operator and NASA safety review panels.
• Coordinate with systems, avionics, propulsion, and software teams to ensure safety compliance.
• Mentor junior safety engineers as the company grows.
