Job summary

Gravitics, based in the United States, seeks a Lead System Safety Engineer to own the system safety lifecycle for pressurized spacecraft and modular orbital structures. You will chair hazard analyses, safety data packages, and represent Gravitics before station operator and NASA review panels.

You will collaborate with systems, avionics, propulsion, and software teams to ensure safety requirements flow into engineering, verify controls, and mentor future safety engineers as the company scales

Qualifications

• Hazard reports and safety data packages approved by NASA.
• Experience with SSP 50808, 30599, NPR standards.
• US person status and ability to travel 10–20%.

Responsibilities

• Lead hazard analyses and author hazard reports with causes, controls, verifications.
• Own SSPP and hazard baselines; track safety verification to closure.
• Represent safety in NASA and operator safety reviews; present data packages.
• Define safety requirements and traceability to verification.
• Assess FDIR, propulsion, batteries, pressure systems for safety.
• Mentor future safety engineers as the company grows.
