Job summary

Ulteig is seeking a Lead System Protection Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of protective relay settings and coordination studies for transmission and distribution systems.

The ideal candidate has a BE degree in Electrical Engineering, a PE license (or ability to obtain within 1 year), 7–9 years of relevant experience, and proficiency with ASPEN/CAPE/ETAP/EasyPower and Mathcad. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required (ABET‑accredited).
• PE License required or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• 7–9 years of relevant experience in system protection.
• Experience with protection scheme development for 12.47 kV to 345 kV.
• Knowledge of NEC is a plus; Master’s degree is a plus.
• Willing to travel 10–20% of the year.

Responsibilities

• Performs short-circuit and symmetry analysis and coordination studies.
• Develops relay settings and test plans; assists commissioning.
• Provides technical guidance to engineers on protection schemes.
• Reviews and produces design drawings including one-line diagrams.
• Supports protection system studies for various voltage levels (12.47–345 kV).
