Job summary

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore is seeking an Assistant Head Coach for the JCC Barracuda Swim Team, overseeing age group programming and the summer league, with emphasis on safety and team administration. Under Head Coach supervision, you will conduct tryouts, coordinate practices, and manage meet entries while mentoring junior coaches and supporting college-athlete transitions.

Qualifications

• Must hold USA Swimming coaching certification at Level 1 or higher.
• Current First Aid and CPR/AED certifications.
• Experience in age-group coaching (3–5 years) preferred.
• Proficient in Meet Manager and Team Unify.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, promote and administer the JCC Barracuda Swim Team year-round and in summer league.
• Conduct team tryouts and advise on correct placement.
• Attend scheduled practices for age groups and some seniors.
• Manage logistics and meet preparation; ensure entries are accurate.
• Maintain safety standards and emergency procedures.
• Assist in coaching staff development and provide back-up coverage.
• Participate in departmental trainings and events.
