Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Survey Party Chief to lead field surveys across multiple sites including Newnan, GA. You will plan studies, check ground characteristics, manage the survey team, and provide precise layouts to support design and construction.

You will work with AutoCAD, GPS, and geodetic tools, ensuring data accuracy and coordinating with engineers and clients while maintaining strong safety practices on site.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in industrial construction with layout or survey responsibilities.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and surveying data management.
• Ability to verify mathematical calculations and overlay detailed designs.

Responsibilities

• Lead survey crew and supervise data collection for site layouts.
• Utilize GPS, geodetic methods, and surveying instruments to determine positions.
• Prepare sketches, maps, and reports describing land features.
• Coordinate with engineers, clients, and contractors to align survey outputs.
• Maintain safety and oversee training of instruments and helpers.
