Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Lead Survey/Metrology professional to plan and execute survey and meteorology strategy, scan operations, and drone pilot programs on a large power project in the USA. You will supervise survey activities, coordinate with field teams, and manage subcontracted crews to ensure data quality and adherence to safety and environmental programs.

You will apply expertise in survey CAD, Spatial Analyzer, and Laser Tracker tools, while guiding continuous learning and competency

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
Knowledge of Bechtel’s “Zero Incidents” safety program and strong safety mindset.
Knowledge of Bechtel quality standards and successful project completion with minimal rework.
Experience in heavy construction surveying field and office activities.
Proficiency with survey CAD software and data processing.

Responsibilities

Oversees implementation of project safety, quality, and environmental programs.
Manages survey control network and coordinates all survey activities.
Supervises direct hire surveyors and subcontracts; verifies control points and work.
Provides survey expertise to Field Engineering and Superintendents.
Develops surveying strategy, content, and accuracy validation procedures.
Directs metrology field measurements using Laser Tracker and related software.
Supports senior management with survey data and planning.
